| Comment / Qualities | Solaris Buenno is an interesting new addition to the world of warmblood and sport horse breeding. His sire Umenno, has an accomplished performance record to date and his dam Edwina a first premium Supreme Champion mare who's progeny have already been successful in the county showring.
Buenno, has inherited the qualities of both sire and dam, elasticity of gaits, tremendous shoulder reach and powerful hind engine despite his injury which has prevented him from following an inhand showing and ridden career.
His bloodlines are a combination of both jumping and dressage genes from the worlds leading stud books. In addition to his proven performance bloodlines Buenno is Homozygous for the tobiano gene, thus providing breeders with the certainty that his progeny will be tobiano.
His sire Umenno at just three years of Age, stood CHAPS Youngstock Champion and overall Inhand Champion at the Royal Highland Show. He was Scottish National also youngstock overall Inhand CHAPS Champion at Brechin. In the same year he became the CHAPS National Non Native Inhand Champion against his older contestants.
As a four year old he won too many inhand and ridden sports horse classes to list, was a Burghley Young Event horse finalist and ended the year placing third in Newcomers classes having jumped nine double clears in his first few months at novice and discovery.
Umenno's jumping career continued as placing 1st equal in the five year classes at Bicton arena and in 2007 Umenno travelled to Switzerland and in his first outings was placed in 1.20 RII classes of over 80 entrants. In July of the same year he jumped a a good double clear at St Legier in the six year old class, placing 1st equal.
Recently exported to South Africa Umenno has continued his success winning the stallion General Breeds Class at HOYS.
His dam "Edwina" also a Dutch Warmblood mare by the now deceased popular and successful coloured show jumping and dressage sire "Ed King Hill" a son of the KWPN approved sire Ekstein out of a Dottorre mare of the German Damenstolz line.
Buenno is one of six full siblings by Umenno out of "Edwina" :- The first premium colt "Amenno"who was also the first and only coloured colt foal to stand champion at the Royal Highland Show in the Hunter brood mare and foal class, "Delanna" awarded a first premium with the SSH and the BEF Futurity evaluations in both the eventing and dressage sections and sold to another top show home and SHB (GB) judge. Her second daughter "Elanna" was sold at just a few days of age and the last in the line at present "Solaris Felanno" winner of the inhand coloured class and overall inhand Champion at Perth ahead of his dam and all other inhand and ridden entries - quite an accomplishment for a foal.
Edwina herself was Supreme Champion of Show at Fife with many other ridden and inhand placings and Championships across Scotland and the UK at numerous County Shows. She continued her success at Perth Show in 2010 winning the small hunter and stood second to her 2010 colt in the coloured class.
Buenno has proven a very popular choice with mare owners and has now covered a wide variety of mares ranging in height and type.
He is as equally suited to Pony mares, as he is taller mares due to his smaller size. We expect his progeny to continue to excel in the show ring this year. He crosses exceptionally well with tbs producing great eventing types but equally as well with sport horse mares aimed at showjumping or dressage.
For the showing enthusiast his progeny have already been shown with great success. He adds top line and muscle development, beautiful well developed quaters, clean well defined limbs, ample movement, plenty of elevation in trot and good reach in walk. We have retained his fillies from his first foal crop as are so delighted with their model, movement all have wonderful temperaments all of whom can be seen.
Buenno is the full package, looks, personality, full bodied with a deep girth, great topline, quality well defined limbs, and a proven performance pedigree. He is offered at a very attractive stud fee and guarantees not only quality but colour too.
