Comment / Qualities

Solaris Buenno is an interesting new addition to the world of warmblood breeding. His sire Umenno, although still young, has an accomplished performance record to date and his dam Edwina a Supreme Champion mare who's progeny have already been successful in the county showring.

Buenno, has inherited the qualities of both sire and dam, elasticity of gaits, a free shoulder and quick active hock. His bloodlines are a combination of both jumping and dressage genes from the worlds leading stud books. In addition to his proven performance bloodlines Buenno is Homozygous for the tobiano gene, thus providing breeders with the certainty that his progeny will be tobiano.

His sire Umenno at just three years of Age, stood CHAPS Youngstock Champion at the Royal Highland Show, and Scottish National youngstock Champion at Brechin, in the same year he became the CHAPS National Non Native Inhand Champion against his older contestants. As a four year old he won numerous inhand and ridden sports horse classes, qualified for Burghley Young Event horse and ended the year placing third in Newcomers classes. His jumping career continued placing 1st equal in the five year classes at Bicton arena. In 2007 Umenno travelled to Switzerland and in his first outings was placed in the 1.10 in classes of over 80 entrants. In July of the same year he jumped a fabulous double clear at St Legier in the six year old class, placing 1st equal.
His dam Edwina is a Dutch Warmblood mare by the now deceased popular and successful coloured show jumping sire Ed King Hill by KWPN approved sire Ekstein out of a Dottorre mare of the Damenstolz line. She has produced three full siblings to Buenno; Amenno, first premium colt with the SSH and the first ever coloured colt foal to stand champion at the Royal Highland Show in the Hunter brood mare and foal class, the coloured colt Chelanno, sold to show producer Karen ledger, and a bay filly Delanna purchased by another renowned show producer John Karwles Jackes. Full sibling Delanna was awarded a first premium as a foal with the SSH and also at the BEF Futrity evaluations in both the eventing and dressage sections. Edwina herself was Supreme Champion of Show at Fife, and many other ridden and inhand placings and Championships across the UK.
