Not only was Wellington a successful show jumper, but he was also an achieved dressage stallion. He has sired many ‘ster’ and ‘keur’ mares and many approved stallion sons including Farrington, Glennridge and Emillion of World Cup success. His offspring are of International show jumping standard include Jerome, VDL Jupiter and What a Game. Umenno’s grandsire, the legendary Nimmerdor, was named KWPN Stallion of the Century. Son of the ‘preferent’ stallion Farn, the ‘preferant’ Nimmerdor was the most famous of all the old-fashioned Holstein’s offspring. Nimmerdor has had a tremendous, far-reaching influence upon the world of equestrian breeding and has sired over 50 Approved sons as well as a multitude of international show jumpers and exceptional brood mares. Umenno’s dam, Evelien (Ster) was one of of 17 offspring out of the Ster Pref mare Solinde. Evelien was one of eight progeny of both Samber and Solinde and is full sister to Sambuco B a fully Licensed stallion with the German warmblood studbook ZfdP sire to nine fully approved stallions in Germany. Evelien herself produced 12 offspring 7 of which have proven themselves in sport the most notable the nine year old mare Pirozet who competed to Z level and Umenno's six year old full brother, Tocher, currently competing at M level dressage and progressing well. A number of her other progeny have received Keur status. Samber Evelien's sire achieved ZZ level in Show jumping and Grand Prix level in dressage. Samber has also proven himself a remarkable sire producing versatile offspring succeeding in all Olympic disciplines and remains the only Approved coloured stallion with the K.W.P.N. – at present…
Progeny: Umenno has consistently sired quality foals from a wide range of mare types. Three of his colt sons have been awarded 1st premiums by KWPN inspectors. He has been recognised by the KWPN officials as adding above average movement to his foals. Umenno produces well developed and strong foals adding flamboyancy to their paces and always refines limb on heavier boned mares.
His foals have been successfully shown inhand standing Champion at numerous County Shows including the first coloured colt foal to win the hunter class at the Royal Highland Show.
