The
News that the black magic stallion Moorlands
Totilas had been sold shocked the world when Cees Visser's
press agent Semira Norman launched the official press release
in which the sale of Totilas to the German Paul Schockemohle
was confirmed with mixed emotions.
Rumors
had circulated after the World Equestrian Games in 2009 and
2010 that he had been sold but all claims had been denied. As
it turned out, the WEG in Kentucky, Lexington, was in fact to
be the last time the duo Edward Gal and "Toto" would
be seen performing together on the US world stage and what a
performance!
Despite the other competitors sky high scores before an audience
of 25000 spectators at the Kentucky Horse Park stadium Edward
Gal put on a performance that will never be forgotten as perhaps
one of the greatest nights in the history of USA dressage when
Edward and Totilas completed their hat trick by winning their
third consecutive gold medal.
On a more promising and uplifting note breeders have been eagerly
awaiting the announcement that Totilas would be made available
for further stud duties following a short release of his services
in 2010 at a fee of 5500 euros. It has since been released that
his semen can be purchased and is available on a limited basis
at €5000 per dose ( not including VAT and shipping) through
Elite Stallions in the UK with orders being taken until end
of January for 2011.
