Zenith
UHS perhaps the most exciting young show jumping stallion in the
UK, showing tenacity and skill in the ridden field.
Athletic ability coupled with tremendous scope, striking
good looks, strength in his model and correctness of limbs, this
bright bay stallion sired by the illustrious "Lupicor"
is consistently proving that his inherited genes are propelling
him into the spotlight and definitely one to watch out for.
Zenith was purchased in Holland by Upper Haddo
Stud and was successfully licensed with the AES Stud Book in 2008.
Having already earned over £1300 in BSJA
winnings in just nine months with a fabulous 2nd place at the Addington
five year old finals with fences measuring 1.35m, Zenith will be
striving for a qualifying place at the prestigous foxhunter finals
in 2010 under saddle with one of the UK's leading riders Scott Brash.
Zenith's
sire "Lupicor" (Lux Z x Pilot x Cor de la Bryere) was
born in 1995 and was bred by the Schroembges family in Wellerlooi
(Limburg). The bay stallion, bred out of the famous Pilot daughter
Jourdette S was approved at the age of 2 for the Westfalen studbook.
Lupicor stood at stud with the German stallion
producer Heinrich Dowe until his return to the Wiemselbach in 2001.
The talented son of Lux Z then competed successfully in National
classes as well as in the Dutch stallion competitions under the
saddle of Rogier Linssen. Based on the success of his jumping performances
he was approved by the KWPN.
After his International jumping career with riders
Ben Schröder and Marco Kutscher, Lupicor became a world class
breeding stallion. His first offspring in Westfalen were very promising
and soon after Lupicor was able to make his mark in the Dutch breeding
industry by producing many champions in foal and mare inspections
and the stallion approvals. Lupicor belongs to the best 1% of all
German stallions and has a very high breeding index in Holland.
Lupicor’s
sire "Lux Z" was a successful stallion in International
show jumping. With Jerry Smit, Lux Z participated in the 2000 Sydney
Olympics and won the Pulsar Crown competitions in Valkenswaard and
Cannes. This brought Lux Z's total winnings to more than a million
Euros. His sire, Lord Calando (Lord), is just like the world-famous
jumping stallion Carthago Z (Capitol I), bred out of Perra (Calando
I).
However aside from his fabulous sire line, as any
calculating breeder will know the success of many a great stallions
is very much based on the contributing factor of the mother line
and this is perhaps what makes this young stallion really stand
out from many.
His
dam the Ster mare "Jorina" by Nimmerdor,
crowned stallion of the century and one of the most influential
progenitors of sport horses in the last century, was herself competed
successfully up to 1.50m in show jumping but also produced seven
progeny including Torina VDL currently jumping Grand Prix's in the
USA. (Photo Zorinde with Ursina")
Jorina's sons and daughters were often selected
for the elite auctions in Holland. "Carinus" by Cartano
was selected and sold at the elite auction Dronthen, with Vincent
by Corland, full brother Wibault" and Usrina by Burgraff were
selected and sold at the elite Star Select auction in 2001. "Usrina"
fetched one of the top prices of 13,500 euros and has since gone
on to jump successfully up to 1m40 whilst Sorina by Indorado and
Vincent by Corland have results at 1.50m and Wibault successfully
placing at Z level. |
